Splitless (“we”, “us”) runs getsplitless.com, an interactive preview of a voice-first expense-splitting app. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Only what the preview needs, plus a little to understand how it is used:
- Your email address and the plan you pick, if you reserve early access on the last step. We also store a random reservation number.
- How you use the site: the screens you open, what you tap, how long steps take, your device, browser and language, the country and city your IP address suggests, and the link or campaign you came from (for example utm parameters).
- Recordings of your visit. We use session replay to see where the preview is confusing. Text you type into form fields is masked and does not appear in recordings.
- Ad measurement data. Once tracking has started (see “When tracking starts”), Meta’s pixel sees page views, that you started the quiz, chose a plan or submitted your email. Our server also sends Meta your IP address, browser details and a hashed (SHA-256) copy of your email for the same purpose.
Why we use it
- To run the preview and keep it secure.
- To improve the product, for example to see where people get stuck.
- To email you about your reservation and about the launch. No newsletters.
- To measure whether our ads work and to show them to people who are likely to be interested.
When tracking starts
In the United States analytics and ad measurement start when you open the site. Everywhere else they start when you click a button on the site, and clicking a button means you accept our Cookie Policy. Until then nothing is loaded or recorded.
Your choices
- You can turn analytics, session replay and ad measurement off on this device at any time on the Cookie Policy page.
- We respect the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we don’t load Meta’s pixel and send Meta no events.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by writing to [email protected]. We aim to reply within 30 days.
- California residents have the same rights under the CCPA, and we don’t treat anyone differently for using them.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until early access ends or you ask us to delete it. Analytics data and recordings are kept for as long as we need them to improve the product, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Children
Splitless is not meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Where your data goes
Our providers are mainly in the United States, so your data may be processed there and in other countries.
